"Delightful Fanciful Pair"
This painting, "Delightful Fanciful Pair," will not show in entirety in this display for its size exceeded the scanner. The leaves go on past the painting's background. I often start out with a small piece to economize & find that I like to go past my limits.

Watercolor paper was used as the background & sculpted pieces. A variety of paints & inks including Night Glow paint were used in its design.

This painting is from the background 8 inches by 10 inches. It would be best matted on acid free colored mat board that complements the painting. The painting is not matted or framed. Because of the design going off of the background it will require a frame about one inch deep & 11 inches by 14 inches or larger...to best display the painting.

My favorite view of this painting is in normal room lighting & with the use of a black light while in a dark room. It does glow in the dark for a short time also.

A Rosey Atmosphere
The dictionary defines rosy as bright & promising. This paintings by its very definition gives that out look in a prayer that was answered with a true sign from God.
After a lengthy illness that eventually took the life of my husband's mother Kathleen. Michael my husband came to me at prayer time & said he had a request for God. He continued in that he wanted to know that his mother was in heaven & happy. I knew as well as he did that when his mother had prayed in her life demons must have trembled because he said when He was young she would go into the bathroom & pray to God & not leave until she felt she had gotten an answer. She was a Godly example to him all her life. We did pray together as he had asked praying & believing together not knowing the timing of God till the next morning.
Bright & early as is the custom for my husband in order for him to get to work on time as usual. He procrastinated and fell back asleep & in a rush ran out the door. He went out the door...He forgot something...He comes back in...saying rose...running all the while. He runs out the door... He runs back in the door to collect the other item he left... He again runs out the door. This time when he left he said..."Rose"...Van...more loudly than before. As he disappeared over the hill to collect his truck & travel quickly toward work, I went to the van. Cold but curious but determined I had to see what he was talking about...it was blistering cold & no rose would bloom in that cold. I looked at the van & could not see it. I scanned the van with my vision thinking my husband must have not been quite awake when he left. Then I noticed it. The Front window of my Van had frosted over night normal for that season. As I squint to see if I'm seeing things I found that the frost had collided with the windshield & had created an unusual form...A most beautifully shaped ROSE just as my husband had said. Less than 9 hours after we had prayed we had our sign from God. As long as I can remember, Kathleen's favorite flower of all times was a rose. At the gate where Our cars come in, every year as long as I can remember there were roses.
Watching as the shade over the van was dissipating & the sun was sending rays of bright sun light I figured I had about 30 minutes before the rose would take its leave & proof of our answered prayer would be no more. I gathered my keys looked at my person in the reflection of the mirror shrugged & left in a hurry. Planning as best I can, I did not account for the fact that the store did not open for an hour, well over the allotted time. Knowing that most folks were still in bed & not ready to deal with a strange woman at their door that early, I focused my eyes on my Husband's cousin's house... Getting it from her. I had already sought help from another source during all the confusion. As the sun inched its way toward the rose on the window I successfully got a bundle of photo's of the answer to our prayers, a sign of God's love through conformation of a simple rose, The answer to our prayer. This painting, "A Rosy Atmosphere" is a testimony to Kathleen McCay's Bright & Promising eternity with friends, relations, & Her Father, God in heaven.

Rainbow in the Clouds
When I was in High School in the early 70's my nickname was Butterfly. I left home my last year in high school & paid rent at a friend's parents' home. To a lot of teens there in school since I had left home on my own I was free is why I was called that butterfly. I did finish school & graduated in 1994. My parents were there & very proud that I had finished even though I was not at home.
This painting reminded me of that time & now. Not just because it is a butterfly but because I see rainbow colors as promises of God. This illustrated butterfly is me holding on to those promises of God in His Word. Not only would He never leave me or forsake me but that which was started in me He is able to complete. I held on to those promises all my life & continue today. Butterflies to me are also represent the changes we go through as we go from a spiritual caterpillar going almost from a dead eternally dormant cycle to a new life in Christ.
I accepted Christ as a child but during my years from high school on 'til I was 21 years of age I was a caterpillar in transition. It was then at 21 I made a change in my life of recommitment to a Christ. In a sense since that time I have been free & holding on to God's promises & will continue till the time Christ comes or I am called home to Him.
This particular painting is like a butterfly that passed through a real rainbow & held on to the colors much like we do when we keep God's promises in our heart even when we don't see the results all the time. The promises can be seen in our actions & in the results of walking daily steps with God through His Words & our actions as a new life in Christ. I have been a Christian for many years but the metamorphic change of my spiritual life has been daily.
This painting is in the For Sale Gallery. It is painted upon watercolor paper & is mixed media paint including Night Glow paint. It's outline is extremely present in the dark after exposure to light. I would like to recommend that you see it in the dark with the use of a black light. This is one of those paintings I do that will look good in no matter what lighting you choose. It is like having 3 paintings in one. It is not matted or framed & would look great if acid free matting is used with it & framed with a larger frame of 8 inches by 10 inches or even a 11 by 14 inch frame.

Imagination Station #3, The Blending
This painting is a combination. An illustration of 2 different worlds comming together. The painting's right side to me is a rainbow colored beach. The area that is furthermost from the deepest water & closest to the sandy beach. About ankel deep. With the evening sun going down & the reflection on the tide comming in. The part that you wade in but you can't get swept off your feet. The left side of the painting on the other hand is total denial of any realism & a playful place to explore various aspects of ones imagination to the fullest. People do just that when they view it at a show.

In my opinion this painting is best viewed in normal room lighting & in black light. The painting is on water color paper with mix media paints including Night Glow Paint. It is app. 22 inches by 33 inches.
